Dr Kanchan Thadani Rupchand

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Kanchan Thadani Rupchand is a Consultant Psychiatrist (FRANZCP) with more than ten years of experience in medicine and psychiatry across Malaysia and Australia. She provides person-centred, holistic, and evidence-based care for women, with particular interests in women's and perinatal mental health, ADHD, trauma and psychotherapy.


She supports women across a broad range of psychiatric concerns, including mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, perinatal mental health, adult ADHD, and personality and psychotic disorders. Her earlier career includes extensive experience across major Malaysian public hospitals, including Hospital Kajang, the UKM Medical Centre, and Hospital Kuala Lumpur. She values a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with hospital teams, carers, families, and other treating clinicians to support continuity of care.


With a gentle and empathetic approach, she strives to create a safe and supportive environment where women feel heard and respected. Her goal is to empower each person throughout their recovery journey by working collaboratively to meet their individual needs and aspirations.


She also speaks Malay and Hindi and warmly welcomes women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
