Dr Kanchan Thadani Rupchand

Dr Kanchan Thadani Rupchand is a Consultant Psychiatrist (FRANZCP) with more than fifteen years of experience in medicine and psychiatry, including published research in peer-reviewed psychiatric journals. She provides person-centred, holistic, and evidence-based care for women aged 18-64, with interests in women’s mental health, ADHD, trauma and psychotherapy:

· Adult ADHD assessment and treatment: Dr Kanchan provides full diagnostic assessment and ongoing medication management for women who suspect ADHD, including for women diagnosed late in life.

· Women's mental health: Assessing and diagnosing mood and anxiety presentations associated with hormonal transitions, including PMDD and perimenopause, with a focus on distinguishing hormonally related symptoms from primary psychiatric disorders and developing comprehensive biopsychosocial formulations.

· Trauma, mood, and anxiety: Depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and complex trauma, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders, with a psychotherapeutic approach alongside medication where that is what suits you.

Dr Kanchan also speaks Hindi and Malay and welcomes women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including women who would prefer to discuss their mental health in their first language.

Her style is unhurried and warm. She works collaboratively rather than prescriptively, coordinating closely with hospital teams, carers, families, and other treating clinicians to support continuity of care.
